Nutanix System Engineer

About the Role

emagine is seeking a Nutanix System Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on driving the adoption of Nutanix products, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective administration and support of Nutanix environments, and acting as a trusted advisor for best practices and architecture solutions. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess current usage of Nutanix core and portfolio products and drive their adoption.
• Apply Nutanix best practices, architecture, and engineering problem-solving skills to present solutions to customers.

• Ensure a positive customer experience through effective administration and support of existing Nutanix environments, including:

  • Installation and configuration of Nutanix core products.
  • Upgrades and patching.
  • Migration from 3-tier to Nutanix.
  • Cross-hypervisor migrations (*, ESXi to AHV).
  • Proactive monitoring of alerts and remediation.
  • Troubleshooting performance and availability issues.
  • Capacity planning and reporting.
  • VM lifecycle management (creation, deletion, cloning, snapshot, etc.).
  • Collaboration with Nutanix support for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Participation in planning and execution of Disaster Recovery (DR) drills.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing guidance on Nutanix best practices, reference architecture, and validated designs.
• Guide and mentor junior team members on daily Nutanix administration tasks.
• Liaise with Nutanix support and third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Leverage Nutanix products and features to automate administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the Nutanix Sales Team to identify and communicate new opportunities, provide ongoing customer status, and report.
• Keep customers informed with status reports on projects, software updates, and ancillary documentation.
• Conduct Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for Nutanix portfolio products.
• Train and enable customer resources.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years of experience in system administration and virtualization technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Nutanix AOS/AHV and/or Hyper-V/VMware ESXi or other converged/hyperconverged platforms.
• Ability to independently analyze and diagnose complex problems across different platforms.
• Customer-centric approach with excellent communication skills.
• Comfortable performing whiteboarding sessions, group presentations, and creating customer-centric documentation.
• Arabic speaker, required to support the Public Sector team in KSA.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• VMware certification such as VCP or VCAP.
• Nutanix NCP certification.
• Experience in workload migration (both P2V and V2V).
• Understanding of storage technologies and data protection methods (*, replication, snapshots, backup, restore).
• Exposure to automation and scripting, preferably Python/PowerShell.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, supporting the Public Sector team in KSA.
