Associate, Government & Public Institutions Defense and Security

Oliver Wyman, a global leader in management consulting with offices in 70 cities across 30 countries, is seeking an Associate for its Middle East Government and Public Institutions – Defense and Security Team. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The team is expanding and requires individuals with deep expertise and solid strategy consulting experience to support its growth.

The Role and Impact

As an Associate, you will contribute to making lasting change for clients by applying industry- and discipline-specific knowledge. Oliver Wyman focuses on delivering significant improvements in sales growth and profitability, often through business model rejuvenation or reinvention. This approach combines deep industry knowledge, advanced analytics, and a hands-on method to achieve rapid, lasting change. Associates are expected to provide unique insight into their chosen subject area.

Responsibilities

  • Break down complex problems into discrete tasks, identifying key aspects and directing junior consultants.
  • Plan and execute analysis effectively, identifying core issues in complex analyses to craft suitable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with clients and project team members to advance projects and manage small teams.
  • Contribute specialized insight within the chosen subject area.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or similar organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of topics within the Government and Public Institution field, with a particular focus on Defense and Security.
  • Understanding of the startup ecosystem and involved players across markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams and clients, delivering against tight deadlines in demanding environments.
  • Capacity to apply content knowledge for thought leadership in project execution.
  • Outstanding communication skills and comfort in presenting to senior executives.
  • Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills.
  • Aptitude for analytical work, including data analysis and identifying key issues in complex challenges.
  • Proactive approach to learning new skills and applying existing ones.
  • An undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program.
  • Willingness to travel.
