Operations Support Engineer

About the Role

LanceSoft Middle East is seeking an Operations Support Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on ensuring the smooth, secure, and continuous operation of IT systems within a business-critical live operational environment. The position involves providing Level 1 and Level 2 technical support across various IT components.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for Windows servers, workstations, hardware, applications, and basic network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot system issues, monitor logs, and perform preventive maintenance.
• Support deployments and patching activities.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to maintain system availability and reliability.

Infrastructure Implementation and Deployment

• Support end-to-end implementation and deployment of airport eGate infrastructure across multiple cities and airport locations.
• Install, configure, and commission physical servers, workstations, network equipment, and associated eGate infrastructure.
• Coordinate hardware installation, operating system deployment, network configuration, application prerequisites, and infrastructure integration.
• Perform infrastructure validation, connectivity checks, system testing, and operational readiness assessments before handover.

Technical Administration and Support

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Windows Client operating systems in accordance with approved infrastructure standards.
• Perform server and workstation configuration, domain joining, user administration, service management, and routine system maintenance.
• Configure and troubleshoot Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPOs), understanding their use for enforcing security settings, password policies, access restrictions, and workstation configurations.
• Configure and troubleshoot DNS resolution, records, caching, and name-resolution failures, including supporting DNS-based access-control and security policies.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot site-to-site VPNs and remote-access/client VPN connectivity.
• Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of physical servers, PCs, workstations, and infrastructure components.
• Support server rack installation, equipment mounting, cable management, power connectivity, and hardware commissioning.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in an operations support or similar engineering role.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server and Windows Client operating systems.
• Proficiency in Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4 addressing, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, gateways, and network connectivity troubleshooting.
• Practical knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies, including VMware ESXi and vSphere environments.
• Familiarity with server hardware components such as motherboards, CPUs, RAM, storage devices, RAID controllers, power supplies, and network interface cards.
