OR Nurse

About the Role

The National Blood & Cancer Center (NBCC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking an experienced OR Nurse for a full-time position. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and maintaining a sterile environment throughout the perioperative process.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the operating room, ensuring all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and functioning properly.
• Assess patients' preoperative needs and verify patient identity, surgical procedures, consent forms, and relevant medical records.
• Assist surgeons and other members of the surgical team during procedures as required.
• Perform scrub and circulating nurse duties in accordance with established clinical protocols.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques and ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
• Monitor patients' conditions before, during, and after surgical procedures, in coordination with the anesthesia and surgical teams.
• Perform surgical instrument, sponge, and needle counts in accordance with established safety protocols.
• Ensure the proper handling, labeling, and transfer of surgical specimens.
• Prepare patients for surgery and provide appropriate nursing care during the perioperative period.
• Recognize and respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patients' conditions.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and surgical procedures accurately in patients' medical records.
• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and equipment in coordination with the relevant departments.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient surgical care.
• Comply with hospital policies, clinical guidelines, patient safety requirements, and applicable healthcare regulations.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified and experienced Operating Room (OR) Nurse.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the National Blood & Cancer Center.
