About the Opportunity

National Medical Care is seeking a Physical Therapist (Home Care) to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is ideal for professionals with 0-1 years of experience, focusing on delivering high-quality physical therapy services within a home care setting. The role is centered on enhancing patients' functional outcomes through comprehensive and individualized treatment programs.

Role Context and Scope

The Physical Therapist is responsible for conducting treatment sessions and developing programs using a wide range of physical therapy modalities and methods. This involves close coordination with physicians and surgeons to implement therapeutic strategies for patients recovering from diverse disabilities and diseases. Conditions treated range from mild sprains and strains to complex neurological conditions and amputations, utilizing interventions such as manual therapy, isometric exercises, and various physical agents and advanced therapeutic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, plan, and carry out physical therapy treatment sessions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Manage and maintain an individual patient caseload, assuming full responsibility for care delivery and progress monitoring.
  • Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner for medical team review.
  • Consult with the medical team to discuss diagnoses and formulate effective treatment strategies.
  • Apply precise manual therapy and massage techniques, and utilize therapeutic tools such as hydrotherapy, infrared/ultraviolet lamps, diathermy, and ultrasound.
  • Guide patients in the use of prosthetic devices and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment interventions.
  • Supervise and guide the activities of Physical Therapy Technicians.
  • Report and assist in resolving any issues related to treatment area maintenance or equipment functionality.

Patient Education and Professional Development

  • Prepare patients for hospital discharge through education on precautions, procedures, and home care instructions.
  • Instruct ward personnel and educate patients and families on home treatment procedures, promoting health education tailored to their developmental stages and learning capacities.
  • Communicate any significant changes in a patient’s condition to the medical team.
  • Maintain complete records of patients’ diagnoses, evaluations, and treatment plans, recommending adjustments based on progress.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and clinical in-service sessions.
  • Stay updated on emerging equipment and treatment techniques, providing recommendations accordingly.
  • Adhere to professional standards and respect the roles and contributions of patients and families in care planning and decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Minimum of 0-1 years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a wide range of physical therapy modalities and methods.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
