The Role: Planning Manager

We are seeking a Planning Manager to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is designed for a highly skilled planning professional who will play a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of complex, large-scale programs. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and collaborative, with a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and mentor junior staff to support departmental objectives.
• Seek opportunities to improve the quality and effectiveness of services provided to project teams.
• Encourage communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across teams and with internal stakeholders.
• Continuously improve the quality of schedule presentation, information, and documentation.
• Ensure preservation and organization of all backup documentation, coordinating with information management teams.
• Provide guidance and support across all aspects of planning, cost, resourcing, and risk.
• Produce and maintain project schedules in alignment with consultant/contractor submissions, ensuring compliance with the Schedule Management Plan and planning processes.
• Lead resource planning activities to determine required resource levels.
• Develop and implement improvements to enhance schedule quality and reporting.
• Perform schedule analysis to identify performance trends and propose mitigation strategies.
• Review schedule data for proposals, bids, and contract negotiations.
• Integrate inter-disciplinary schedule requirements to establish logical work sequences and coordinate with performing organizations.
• Identify potential or emerging schedule issues at site level and recommend solutions, including developing mitigation plans for identified risks.
• Review and edit project progress tracking and reporting, producing baseline and target schedules.
• Ensure weekly and monthly schedule updates as design and construction progress.
• Participate in strategic planning exercises and provide input into the development of planning processes and procedures.
• Identify and manage key interfaces to ensure seamless coordination, including with commercial teams for effective controls across budget, cost, reporting, risk, and change management.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in planning and project delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor junior staff.
• Proven analytical skills for schedule analysis and trend identification.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to foster effective teamwork.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in planning processes.
