About the Saudi Power Procurement Company

The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) is seeking a Power Wholesales Sr. Engineer to join its team in Riyadh. SPPC plays a crucial role in ensuring reliable and cost-effective energy procurement for Saudi Arabia, supporting the nation's energy sector objectives.

Role Overview

The Power Wholesales Sr. Engineer is responsible for ensuring reliable and cost-effective energy procurement while maintaining grid stability. This full-time position involves coordinating energy transactions, managing contracts, and processing data to meet SPPC’s corporate and operational objectives. The role also supports Saudi Arabia’s power system transition by aligning trading activities with renewable and conventional energy targets, in compliance with established policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with bulk customers and retail licensees to ensure reliable power supply, compliance with contractual agreements, and effective wholesale electricity sales at regulated or competitive prices.
  • Assist in wholesale power invoicing, including preparation, review, and timely delivery, ensuring alignment with settlement data. This involves collaborating with the Finance team to ensure account settlements and payment collections.
  • Understand and address technical and commercial disputes related to power sales and purchase agreements in coordination with legal and other stakeholders, ensuring adherence to contractual and market regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in management roles, specifically in power purchase, power contract management, power production, or customer relations.

Preferred Certifications

  • Professional certifications in Project Management (*, PMP) are beneficial.
  • Contract Management certification (*, CPCM) is preferred for roles involving contracts planning and management.
  • Procurement Management certification (*, CIPM) is preferred for power purchase management responsibilities.
