About the Role

Tractebel is seeking a Product Manager – Thermal Generation to join its team on a full-time basis. This role is based in either UAE or Riyadh and reports directly to the Head of Energy & Infrastructure – Middle East. The Product Manager will be responsible for all business lines related to Thermal Power Generation, encompassing heavy oil, gas, and hydrogen-powered plants, open and combined cycle power plants, CHP and cogeneration facilities, waste-to-energy plants, district energy systems, and associated decarbonization solutions. This position serves as the focal point for Thermal Generation services within the Middle East region, coordinating with Tractebel's Global Thermal Power and Energy Transition practices to drive innovation and sustainable growth.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage the successful delivery of projects throughout their lifecycle, including feasibility studies, concept engineering, detailed engineering, owner's engineering, project management, site supervision, commissioning, asset management, operations & maintenance support, and asset optimization services.
• Contribute to the overall business strategy for the Thermal Generation Product Line and develop a regional growth strategy aligned with global and regional objectives.
• Identify and pursue emerging opportunities in thermal power generation, hydrogen integration, decarbonization, Waste-to-Energy, cogeneration, district energy, and carbon capture solutions.
• Support Business Development and Sales & Proposals teams through client engagement, technical leadership during bid preparation, proposal development, and promotion of Tractebel's capabilities.
• Oversee the technical and operational performance of the Thermal Generation Product Line, including accountability for annual revenue, profitability, order intake, utilization, and growth targets.
• Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against approved targets and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Tractebel Ethics Policies, ISO procedures, Quality Management Systems, and Health & Safety requirements.

Technical Leadership and Innovation

The Product Manager will provide technical leadership across the entire lifecycle of Thermal Generation projects, maintaining expertise in various technologies and associated engineering services. This includes a strong understanding of:

• Gas Turbine and Combined Cycle Power Plants, Open Cycle Power Generation Facilities.
• CHP and Cogeneration Systems, Waste-to-Energy Facilities, District Energy Systems.
• Hydrogen-ready and Hydrogen-fired Power Generation, Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS).
• Thermal asset life extension and modernization programs.

The role also involves driving the adoption of innovative technologies and engineering solutions, supporting the integration of decarbonization and energy transition strategies, and promoting digital engineering, digital twins, asset performance management, and predictive maintenance solutions.

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

This position requires directing, overseeing, and mentoring the Thermal Generation team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting annual performance reviews and goal-setting discussions, developing succession plans, and supporting professional development for direct and indirect reports.
• Promoting knowledge transfer and collaboration across local, regional, and global Tractebel teams.
• Actively participating in the acquisition of new business opportunities and strategic pursuits.
• Establishing and maintaining executive-level relationships with utilities, government authorities, industrial clients, project developers, technology providers, and strategic partners.
• Leading technical presentations, workshops, and client engagements, and representing Tractebel at industry conferences and forums.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Power, or Energy Engineering. A Master's Degree and/or MBA is preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience within Thermal Power Generation, Utilities, Engineering Consultancy, Developer, EPC, or Owner's Engineering environments.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience.
• Proven experience in Thermal Generation project development and execution, particularly in gas-fired generation, combined cycle plants, CHP/cogeneration facilities, and Waste-to-Energy projects.
• Demonstrated experience in project management and multidisciplinary engineering delivery.
• Proven business development and client relationship management capabilities.
• Experience in the Middle East market is highly desirable.
• Professional registration (PE, CEng, PMP, or equivalent) is advantageous.
