About the Role

Strike IT Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced Product Owner Digital Banking to join a significant digital banking transformation programme in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves taking ownership of digital products and customer journeys within a large-scale, technology-led banking environment, from initial concept and requirements through to delivery and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, UX/UI, architecture, and other product teams to define requirements, prioritize the product backlog, and ensure solutions deliver genuine customer and business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities align with business and customer objectives.
• Define the product vision, roadmap, features, and delivery priorities.
• Translate business requirements and customer needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
• Lead requirements gathering and product discovery sessions with business and technology stakeholders.
• Work closely with engineering, architecture, UX/UI, and QA teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Drive the development and enhancement of digital banking products and customer journeys.
• Prioritize features based on customer value, commercial impact, regulatory requirements, and technical dependencies.
• Act as the key link between business stakeholders and technology delivery teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Manage dependencies across multiple teams and product areas.
• Support UAT, product releases, and go-live activities.
• Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to provide visibility of product progress, risks, and priorities.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Strong experience working as a Product Owner / Digital Product Owner.
• Previous experience within Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech.
• Experience delivering customer-facing digital products, platforms, or journeys.
• Strong understanding of Agile product development and software delivery.
• Excellent experience creating and managing product backlogs, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience working closely with software engineering and technology teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable requirements for development teams.
• Experience working across the full product lifecycle from discovery and requirements through development, testing, and launch.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and workshop leadership skills.

Highly Desirable Qualifications

• Experience within Digital Banking, Mobile Banking, or Online Banking.
• Experience working for a digital-first or challenger bank.
• Knowledge of areas such as onboarding, KYC, payments, cards, accounts, lending, or customer servicing.
• Experience delivering products within highly regulated environments.
• Previous experience working on large-scale banking transformation programmes.
• Experience working within the Saudi Arabian or wider GCC banking market.
• Arabic language skills are advantageous but not essential.

The Opportunity and Location

This is an initial 6–12 month contract position within a significant digital banking programme in Riyadh, with a strong possibility of transitioning into a permanent role. The position is full-time onsite in Riyadh. Candidates must either be currently based in Saudi Arabia or be willing to relocate for the assignment.
