Project Manager Capability Development

About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Project Manager – Capability Development to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading the targeted development, deployment, and continuous improvement of Programme/Project Management Capabilities within BAE Systems Saudi Arabia. The Project Manager will ensure that policies, processes, and toolsets are fit for purpose for the Business Unit (BU) needs and will continuously measure and report on the position of PM capabilities through maturity assessments.

BAE Systems operates as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under Government-to-Government arrangements to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. The company is responsible for the maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and provides training for RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and the development of Saudi National capability through the growth of Saudi National Partner Companies, reinforcing industrialisation and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve Project Management Capabilities across lines of business and functions.
• Ensure designated Project Management Improvements are identified and deployed to the Business Unit, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Provide interfaces, domain expertise, and knowledge in the delivery of Project Management Capability to all stakeholders.
• Capture, develop, and implement new and existing Project Management competencies and capabilities (Policies, Processes, and Toolsets) within the Business Unit.
• Implement PM Assurance and Maturity Assessments to measure current capability levels, identify gaps, and provide evidence of delivery and associated benefit returns of strategic capability deployments.
• Manage the PM Capability Development team, including the development of improvement plans and the management and reporting of their execution.
• Establish Information and Knowledge Management capability to capture Lessons Learned and identify Continuous Improvements within PM Governance and Capabilities.
• Support the development and deployment of Corporate Project Management Council and Performance Excellence capabilities.
• Support the implementation of BAE Systems Saudi Arabia’s “Fit for Purpose” activities and projects.
• Provide PM Functional representation at Line of Business Programme and/or Project reviews.
• Deploy relationships between the PM function, business units, wider community, and cross-functions.
• Support Corporate PM Council working groups as the nominated representative.
• Hold responsibility for applicable financial budget identification and reporting against agreed headcount.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management or capability development.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and lead Project Management Improvement Working Groups.
• Experience in supporting the establishment, development, and growth of PM capabilities for a Project Management Community.
