The Role: Senior Associate, Global Transaction Banking Sales (Saudization)

QNB Group is seeking a Senior Associate, Global Transaction Banking Sales (Cash and Trade) to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is a key part of the Saudization initiative and focuses on business development and marketing within the bank's Cash Management and Trade Finance product base. The incumbent will identify opportunities by understanding client business models, including operational and financial processes, and working capital and treasury management needs.

This position involves providing customer-centric banking solutions and services to meet customer needs and improve the client experience. The role has annual revenue targets and other quantitative and qualitative KPIs, contributing to the GTB department's objectives in terms of growing the customer base, increasing revenue, and transaction volumes. The Senior Associate reports to corporate banking management domestically and to the global GTB business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales plans for transaction solutions to contribute to departmental revenue and profitability for Cash Management and Trade Finance.
  • Achieve set targets in line with Global Corporate and Institutional Banking strategic directions, with direct P/L ownership for transaction fees, Trade assets, and CASA balances.
  • Collect market intelligence on competitor actions and customer preferences, formulating and executing sales and marketing strategies.
  • Analyze client and market data to enhance GTB offerings and maintain/increase market share, collaborating with in-country Relationship Managers to identify and close opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing support to existing customers, respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs), and assist Relationship Managers with structuring expertise.
  • Contribute to in-country product solution development based on market research and customer feedback, and promote digital channel adoption.
  • Prepare and deliver periodic and ad hoc MIS reports on personal and unit performance.
  • Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments and build strong relationships to achieve Group objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Global Transaction Banking sales, with a specific focus on Cash Management and Trade Finance.
  • Demonstrated ability in business development, marketing, and achieving revenue targets and KPIs.
  • Strong understanding of client business models, operational and financial processes, and working capital/treasury management needs.
  • Proficiency in market data analysis and strategic sales planning.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Compliance and Risk Management

The Senior Associate is responsible for adhering to all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements. This includes strict compliance with Group Compliance Policies and Procedures such as AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, and Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy. The role requires understanding and effective performance under the Three Lines of Defence principle, ensuring systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy, and supporting the framework of RCSA, KRI, and Incident reporting.

Professional Standards and Development

The incumbent is expected to take responsibility for self-development, staying informed on the latest technical, financial, industry, and market developments relevant to the role and the bank's operations. Maintaining high standards of data protection and confidentiality for commercially sensitive and customer information is paramount. The role also requires upholding QNB’s reputation and strengthening its market leadership position through professional conduct.
