About Mirai and the QA Lead Role

Mirai is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Lead to join its team in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. This is a full-time position reporting directly to a QA Manager. The QA Lead is a critical function responsible for ensuring best-in-class test coverage for game teams' projects through close collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.

Role Overview and Collaboration

The QA Lead will serve as a master communicator, bug-finding specialist, and test case management expert. This role involves both leading and coordinating multiple teams of testers with delegated tasks, as well as undertaking autonomous missions to assist cross-functional teams as an expert QA specialist. Collaboration is central to this role, requiring engagement with external deployment project managers, producers, product managers, external development teams, QA teams, and engineering teams.

Core Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage large or multiple teams of internal and development testers across various shifts on complex projects.
• Coordinate testing efforts with QA partners in the game teams.
• Manage resource needs based on the scope of upcoming releases.
• Respond to one-off testing queries, acting as a liaison and communicator for the game QA testing teams.
• Assist in maintaining test and development environments by managing environment-specific configurations and settings.
• Work closely with the game engineering team for ad hoc testing requests, demonstrating advanced techniques for testing and regression of products.
• Generate status reports for the game QA team and game team leaders, communicating testing status and escalating risks and blockers to key stakeholders.
• Assist in the generation and maintenance of functional test suites.
• Manage daily bug triages, confidently prioritizing bugs and surfacing critical issues logged by QA.
• Instill QA best testing practices across both internal and external teams, increasing the quality level of issue reporting through advanced techniques including crash logs, server logs, video, and screen capture.
• Leverage Dashboards to monitor issue statuses throughout the testing lifecycle.

Project Leadership and Team Development

• Lead the planning and implementation of projects, facilitating the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Define and distribute project tasks based on team resources.
• Recruit, interview, and select staff with appropriate skills for project activities, and manage project staff according to company policies and practices.
• Ensure that all project personnel receive proper orientation and professional development.
• Execute projects according to the agreed plan, organizing daily standups and retrospective meetings with teams.
• Recurrently review the quality of completed work with the team to ensure it meets project standards.
• Constantly monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders and adjust as necessary.
• Present reports defining QA project progress, risk registry, and mitigation plans.
• Track project deliverables using appropriate tools such as TestRail and Jira.
• Provide direction and support to the project team, implementing and managing project changes.
• Ensure that project deliverables are on time and at the required level of quality, monitoring the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
• Coach team members to develop and grow talented testers within the organization, contributing to the development and delivery of the training curriculum.

Candidate Profile and Essential Requirements

• A passion for games across all genres and platforms (mobile, PC, and console).
• A desire to grow a career in the gaming industry and learn the intricacies of game development, with potential growth in QA, production, design, and product live operations.
• Proven prior experience managing quality on mobile, console, or PC projects.
• Ability to comfortably manage and re-prioritize multiple tasks dynamically.

• Experience overseeing quality on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with Google Play and App Store Connect Consoles.
• Experience using various QA tools, such as Charles Proxy and XCode.
