Role Overview: Regional Marketing Leader, Surgery META

The Regional Marketing Leader for Surgery in the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) region is responsible for developing and executing the commercial marketing strategy across the Surgery portfolio. This includes driving portfolio growth, market development, launch excellence, clinical adoption, content creation, market access alignment, and distributor marketing effectiveness. The role acts as a strategic link between Global Business Units and the META region, translating global strategies into regional growth plans and representing META's market needs in global decision-making processes. The position also involves upstream marketing activities, such as identifying market opportunities and influencing innovation priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the META Marketing strategy, portfolio priorities, launch plans, pricing input, and commercial initiatives to achieve revenue and profitability objectives.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Global Marketing and META commercial teams, adapting global strategies for regional relevance and ensuring META market needs are communicated globally.
• Lead upstream marketing by identifying unmet customer needs, emerging clinical trends, market opportunities, and portfolio gaps across META.
• Influence global innovation roadmaps, product development priorities, and launch strategies using voice-of-customer insights and market intelligence.
• Manage the development, adaptation, governance, and deployment of commercial marketing content across META, including value propositions, sales enablement tools, and campaigns.
• Develop customer-centric value propositions tailored to specific market segments and country dynamics.
• Drive successful launch execution for new products and therapy development priorities through robust commercialization and adoption plans.
• Collaborate with Country Business Leaders, Sales Managers, Global Marketing, Medical Affairs, and other functional teams to ensure aligned execution.
• Partner with distributors and direct commercial teams to enhance marketing capability, campaign execution, and customer engagement.
• Lead market research, business analytics, segmentation, targeting, and performance assessments to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor market dynamics, competitive activities, and pricing trends to develop effective counterstrategies.
• Support market access, pricing, reimbursement, and tender strategies by developing value narratives and evidence-based positioning.
• Partner with Medical Affairs and Professional Education to strengthen KOL engagement, clinical education, and customer training initiatives.
• Coordinate forecast assumptions, demand planning inputs, and business review preparation.
• Manage promotional investments and regional marketing budgets effectively.
• Represent BD at industry conferences and customer events as required.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability across teams and partners.
• Uphold BD's standards of ethics, integrity, and compliance in all business activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Over 10 years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to travel across the META region as business needs require.
