Resident Engineering Structural

About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Resident Engineering Structural professional for a full-time position in Saudi Arabia. This role involves conducting field investigations and client interviews to define the scope and cost estimates for the civil/structural aspects of projects. The successful candidate will lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews, ensuring that unique and complex civil/structural requirements are met through technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of civil/structural engineering work for a global business unit, project, or staff group. This includes preparing original designs, layouts, details, drawings, and specifications for structures, buildings, roadways, and railroads.
• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate Civil/Structural components and processes using relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs), Design Control Check List (DCCL), and Design Review Notices (DRNs).
• Design structures utilizing advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering.
• Determine the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete, ensuring material selection is based on load or stress requirements.
• Originate and check complex structural engineering deliverables, including steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
• Analyze problems with conflicting design requirements, sketching ideas and possible solutions.
• Analyze and report on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques, and/or difficult coordination requirements.
• Plan, coordinate, or prepare equipment, work, and material specifications, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
• Prepare procurement and subcontract requisition documents and perform associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations.
• Provide assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Civil/Structural requirements and in addressing issues during project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant engineering field. The role requires a strong background in civil/structural engineering principles and practices, with a focus on design, analysis, and constructability.
