About the Opportunity

Bank of Jordan is seeking a dedicated Risk Officer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position designed for professionals with 2-5 years of experience in risk management, focusing on operational risk within the banking sector.

Role Overview

The Risk Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and continuous enhancement of the Operational Risk Management Framework across the Branch. This position ensures adherence to Bank policies, SAMA regulations, and Basel standards, contributing to a robust risk control environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Operational Risk Management Framework, ensuring alignment with Bank policies, SAMA regulations, and Basel standards.
• Identify, assess, monitor, and report operational risks across the Branch, maintaining the Operational Risk Register.
• Conduct Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), operational incidents, and loss events, performing root cause analysis and following up on corrective actions.
• Review new products, services, projects, and significant business changes from an operational risk perspective.
• Prepare comprehensive operational risk reports, recommendations, and management updates.
• Follow up on Internal Audit, External Audit, and regulatory observations to ensure the timely implementation of agreed actions.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess the impact of new SAMA and Basel requirements on the Branch.
• Support Operational Risk stress testing, scenario analysis, Business Continuity Management (BCM), and Disaster Recovery initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and update of Operational Risk policies and procedures, provide risk advisory support to business units, and promote risk awareness through training and guidance.

Qualifications and Expertise

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional experience in a risk management role, ideally within the financial sector.
• Demonstrated understanding of operational risk management principles, SAMA regulations, and Basel standards.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments, control evaluations, and incident analysis.
• Proficiency in preparing detailed risk reports and recommendations.

Work Location

This full-time position is based at the Bank of Jordan's branch in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
