About the Role

KONE, recognized as a Top Employer, is seeking a Safety Specialist to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on enhancing safety performance and awareness within the business unit, reporting to the Safety Manager. Key Responsibilities

The Safety Specialist will be responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of KONE's safety management system, encompassing worker, user, and third-party safety. This includes cultivating a proactive safety culture, acting as a role model, and maintaining safety documentation with the unit safety team. The role involves active participation in safety committees and forums, providing professional advice on safety matters, and planning and implementing safety improvement projects. Collaboration with customers, partners, and KONE subcontractors is also a key aspect, as is supporting the development and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans.

Safety Management and Assurance

Key duties include monitoring and developing safety risk management processes, tools, and practices, and supporting safety-related change management initiatives. The specialist will collect, measure, and report on leading and lagging safety data, and monitor developments in the legal and business environment related to safety. Regular safety audits will be conducted to verify compliance and identify risks, with assistance provided to line management in audit processes. Incident analysis, investigation, and management of corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement are also essential functions.

Safety Promotion and Development

The role requires the Safety Specialist to develop their own competences in cooperation with their manager and support the training and development of others' safety competences within the unit. Proactive communication of safety information, including investigation outcomes and best practices, is expected.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety within the elevators, construction, or related industries.
  • NEBOSH and IOSH certificates are mandatory.
  • Excellent communication, training, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic languages.
