About the Senior Accountant Role

ASBIS Middle East is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring precise financial reporting, maintaining compliance with local regulations, and implementing effective financial controls to support business activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including month-end and year-end closing, in adherence to IFRS and KSA regulations.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements, management reports, and cash flow forecasts.
• Execute invoice processing, expense control, payroll accounting, VAT, Zakat, and other tax reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi tax laws and regulations, including ZATCA (VAT, Zakat, Corporate Tax) filings and audits.
• Oversee accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), inventory accounting, and fixed assets management.
• Maintain robust internal controls and provide support for both internal and external audits.
• Coordinate effectively with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities.
• Support compliance with Saudization (Nitaqat) requirements where applicable.
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements, automation initiatives, and enhancements to financial systems.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• A professional qualification such as SOCPA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a preference for backgrounds in international distribution, FMCG, or trading environments.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of KSA accounting standards, VAT, Zakat, and statutory requirements.
• Practical experience in dealing with ZATCA, managing audits, and handling regulatory reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Demonstrated high attention to detail, integrity, and strong organizational capabilities.
