Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the Role

TawanTech is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer specializing in **** and TypeScript. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications.

Role Overview

The ideal candidate will possess strong backend development experience, with solid knowledge of RESTful APIs, databases, containerization, and Linux environments. An understanding of modern DevOps practices and infrastructure automation is also expected. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using **** and TypeScript.
• Develop, integrate, and consume RESTful APIs.
• Build and maintain backend applications using modern development practices.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring efficient data management and performance.
• Manage and operate Docker containers and support application deployment.
• Implement secure coding practices and protect applications against common security vulnerabilities.
• Develop and maintain scripts using Bash or PowerShell to automate operational tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and maintainable software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Support CI/CD processes and contribute to improving development and deployment workflows.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong professional experience in backend software development using **** and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Git-based version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Practical experience managing and operating Docker.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Good understanding of secure coding practices, particularly OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
• Basic knowledge of Linux environments.
• Experience writing scripts for Linux or Windows environments using Bash or PowerShell.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and deploying applications on Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with the NestJS framework.
• Experience with DevOps practices and developing CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React or ****
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools.
