MOBCO Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for supporting the commercial management of our construction projects across various locations within the Kingdom. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of these projects.

Role Overview

The Senior Commercial Engineer will manage commercial and contractual activities throughout the entire project lifecycle. This encompasses contract administration, diligent cost control, comprehensive budgeting, effective claims management, processing change orders, efficient subcontract administration, and proactive commercial risk management. The role demands extensive experience in the construction industry and a strong understanding of contractual frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and contractual activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review, interpret, and administer construction contracts in accordance with project requirements.
• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate variations, change orders, extension of time (EOT) claims, and other contractual claims.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to ensure optimal commercial performance.
• Prepare and review interim payment applications and subcontractor payment certificates.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and participate in commercial negotiations.
• Identify commercial and contractual risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Contracts teams to achieve project objectives.
• Review tender documents and support bid preparation from a commercial perspective.
• Prepare commercial reports, cost analyses, and financial forecasts for senior management.
• Ensure proper documentation and record management for all contractual correspondence.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution through sound contractual practices.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and client requirements.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess 5 to 10 years of experience in a commercial engineering role within the construction industry. A strong understanding of FIDIC contracts and adherence to commercial best practices are essential for this position. Candidates should demonstrate extensive experience in managing complex commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
