About the Role

ADB Safegate is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to managing all commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of major construction and infrastructure projects undertaken by the company.

Role Objectives

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the financial health and contractual integrity of projects. This involves comprehensive cost estimation, diligent contract administration, proactive commercial risk management, and effective handling of claims. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will support project delivery with the aim of maximizing profitability and minimizing financial and contractual risks for the company.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration, negotiation, and management of contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with commercial terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee interim and final payment applications, ensuring timely submission and certification.
  • Analyse project costs, monitor financial progress, and prepare regular commercial reports for senior management.
  • Support procurement and tendering processes, including supplier and subcontractor evaluation and appointment.
  • Provide commercial input to project teams, advising on risk, value engineering, and cost-saving opportunities.

Commercial and Contractual Management

  • Manage and value variations, claims, and change orders, including preparation, negotiation, and settlement with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare, review, and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensure robust contract and commercial documentation and maintain audit-ready records.
  • Liaise with legal, finance, and project management teams to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
  • Assist in dispute resolution, including the preparation of claims, supporting documentation, and participation in negotiations or adjudications.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates for this position should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, specifically within major construction and infrastructure projects.
