About the Opportunity

Parsons Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Manager to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for the delivery of multi-disciplinary design across major programs and infrastructure asset portfolios. The role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience in design management.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Planning & Design within the Planning stream, the Senior Design Manager provides strategic, technical, and managerial leadership. This position holds end-to-end accountability for design governance, technical assurance, consultant performance, and integrated design delivery, spanning from early strategic planning through to construction documentation.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead strategic, technical, and managerial oversight for the delivery of multi-disciplinary design across major programs, districts, precincts, and infrastructure asset portfolios.
• Provide end-to-end accountability for design governance, technical assurance, consultant performance, and integrated design delivery across all project stages.
• Define design delivery strategies, sequencing, phasing, and resource planning at program and portfolio levels.
• Manage complex design interfaces across disciplines, infrastructure systems, assets, packages, and delivery teams to ensure fully coordinated outcomes.

Design Lifecycle Management

• Oversee design development from Strategic Planning and Concept Design through Schematic Design, Detailed Design, and Construction Documentation.
• Review, challenge, and endorse technical submissions and consultant deliverables to support client governance and approval processes.
• Support value engineering, optimisation initiatives, and design efficiency improvements while maintaining technical integrity and delivery objectives.
• Embed lessons learned, innovation, and best practice design management principles into project execution.

Technical Leadership and Stakeholder Alignment

• Act as a senior technical lead within the team, influencing design strategy, delivery methodologies, standards application, and engineering best practices.
• Lead and direct multi-disciplinary consultants and design teams, establishing technical priorities, quality expectations, and coordinated delivery approaches with a clear integrated program.
• Ensure alignment between Development, Projects, and other Support Functions with stakeholder requirements to support program and project objectives.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of experience in a design management role, demonstrating strong leadership, technical acumen, and a proven ability to manage complex multi-disciplinary design projects. Experience within infrastructure and urban development contexts is essential for success in this position.
