About Ardara and the Role

Ardara is seeking a Senior Director Design to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to leading the design process across a diverse portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring design excellence and strategic alignment within the company's ambitious development initiatives.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to direct the entire design process for all ARDARA projects, encompassing architecture, engineering, and interior design. This includes various asset types such as residential, retail, offices, hospitality, and F&B. The Senior Director Design ensures that all designs align with the project’s vision, desired concept, design specifications, and both international and local standards, while also guaranteeing timely preparation and submission within budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and direct the implementation of the department's strategy, ensuring alignment with divisional strategy, ARDARA’s vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and counsel ARDARA’s leadership on design-related areas to support strategic goals.
  • Manage the achievement of departmental objectives through effective leadership, performance management, and team development.
  • Lead talent development initiatives within the department to ensure the availability of skilled professionals.
  • Oversee the consolidation and recommendation of the department budget, monitoring financial performance against it.
  • Identify areas for cost reduction and performance improvement within the department.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of departmental policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.
  • Lead change management efforts through continuous improvement of departmental systems, processes, and practices, considering global standards.
  • Ensure all departmental reports are prepared accurately, timely, and in accordance with ARDARA’s requirements and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Urban Design, or an equivalent field from a recognized and accredited university.
  • A Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Architectural Engineering from a recognized and accredited university is desirable.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience in architecture, strategic design, or engineering.
  • Experience should be gained within a fast-paced and dynamic development company, encompassing most of the asset classes ARDARA is developing.
  • Experience on both the Designer-side and Developer-side is preferred.
