About the Role

HanmiGlobal MENA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its program management and PMCM team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves providing program-level electrical engineering expertise and technical governance for a large-scale, multi-work package land and infrastructure development program. The role operates under the direction of the Technical Manager, contributing to the successful delivery of the overall development program.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Senior Electrical Engineer will deliver program-level technical expertise, engineering assurance, and collaborative oversight. This includes reviewing and monitoring all electrical designs to ensure integration and compliance with approved design standards, utility requirements, statutory regulations, and operational needs. The role focuses on ensuring all power distribution systems, substations, electrical utility networks, and street lighting systems meet program objectives.

  • Review and assess electrical engineering reports, design calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical submissions for compliance with standards and project objectives.
  • Evaluate electrical engineering solutions for safety, reliability, operability, maintainability, energy efficiency, and lifecycle performance.
  • Review power distribution systems, medium- and low-voltage networks, substations, utility corridors, and street lighting systems.
  • Assess electrical load forecasts, network capacities, and utility interface requirements, ensuring integration with other infrastructure systems.
  • Coordinate with utility providers and regulatory authorities for approvals and technical compliance.
  • Support engineering governance by reviewing technical compliance, deviations, design modifications, and Value Engineering proposals.
  • Assess the impact of design changes on safety, reliability, operational efficiency, cost, and schedule.
  • Provide technical recommendations for engineering decisions and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including developers, consultants, contractors, utility providers, and government authorities on electrical engineering matters.
  • Prepare technical assessments, review comments, and executive summaries for management and the Client.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews, technical workshops, and coordination meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Chartered Professional membership or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of professional experience in electrical infrastructure, power distribution systems, utility networks, urban development, infrastructure delivery, or major capital projects.
  • Experience within PMCM, PMC, consultancy, developer, contractor, utility, or client-side organizations, preferably on major infrastructure and land development programs in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.
