About the Senior Electrical Engineer Role

Haskoning, a global leader in data centre design and engineering, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) Data Centre team. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. The role involves contributing to the design and delivery of reliable and sustainable data centres for leading providers and users worldwide.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary, cross-border team, contributing to projects both on-site and remotely. Your responsibilities will extend beyond project delivery to include the optimization of internal business processes and the sharing of knowledge within your field. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and delivering all electrical work packages from scope definition through design, documentation, and execution across multiple projects.
• Designing and engineering low, medium, and high voltage power supply and distribution systems, incorporating storage, redundancy, and uninterruptible power supplies to meet project and client requirements.
• Developing effective solutions for fire protection, intrusion detection, and access control systems to safeguard data centre security.
• Ensuring high-quality and timely information flow to contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities through specifications, reports, and tender documentation.
• Supporting project management with cost reviews, risk management, testing and commissioning, vendor evaluation, and representing Haskoning during factory and site acceptance activities.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation combined with excellent interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial mindset focused on results. Effective operation within international project environments and clear communication with diverse stakeholders are essential. Specific qualifications include:

• A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical design and engineering, with demonstrable experience in data centre projects.
• Proven experience with advanced electrical engineering studies and calculations, such as short-circuit studies, discrimination studies, and LPS risk assessments.
• A license to design (electrical specialization) and strong knowledge of international and local design and construction standards, codes, regulations, and industry best practices, particularly within the KSA project context.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are considered a strong advantage.
