About AECOM and the Senior H&S Engineer Role

We partner with clients to solve complex challenges and build legacies for future generations. We are seeking a Senior Health & Safety Engineer to join our organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position.

Purpose of the Position

The Senior Health & Safety Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive health and safety programs. This senior-level position plays a critical role in protecting our workforce and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The successful candidate will foster a strong safety culture while driving continuous improvement across all operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs aligned with Saudi Arabia's labor regulations, OSHA standards, and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses across all work areas, identifying potential dangers and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Design and deliver safety training programs to employees at all levels, ensuring understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage safety audits and compliance inspections, documenting findings and developing action plans to address non-conformances.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of safety documentation, including safety data sheets, standard operating procedures, and emergency response plans.
  • Collaborate with department heads and operational teams to integrate safety considerations into all business processes and projects.
  • Monitor and analyze safety metrics and key performance indicators, preparing reports for senior management and recommending program enhancements.
  • Stay current with evolving health and safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring organizational compliance.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and safety consultants, as needed.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in health and safety engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor and a strong commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.
  • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments is preferred.
