The Senior Legal Advisor Role

BSF is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to join its legal team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to providing strategic legal counsel and oversight across banking, commercial, regulatory, and litigation matters. The role involves safeguarding BSF’s interests and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while also driving legal excellence through effective stakeholder partnership, proactive risk management, and the development and mentorship of legal teams to support business objectives and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and oversee the day-to-day legal activities of BSF, and assist the General Counsel with the oversight of high-level legal activities.
• Work closely with business line members, serving as their advisor on a variety of banking and commercial transactions, as well as other legal matters.
• Draft and revise banking and commercial agreements, along with other legal documents.
• Manage relationships between the Legal Department (LGD) and various business lines within BSF.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Legal Advisors and offer assistance where necessary.
• Contribute to business and legal teams as an advisor and strategic thinker.
• Handle day-to-day litigation, administrative, and regulatory matters, including hearings, investigations, and trials, with the aim of minimizing risk and exposure or maximizing recovery for BSF.
• Attend hearings and trials, reporting the outcome back to the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, and the LGD Head responsible for the matter.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant legal experience.
• Licensed to practice law.
• Some litigation experience is preferred.
