About the Senior Linux Administrator Role

DXC Technology is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in Linux system administration to manage and maintain critical infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities

The Senior Linux Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Linux servers and systems across both production and development environments. Key duties include monitoring system performance to ensure high availability and reliability, performing system upgrades, patching, and security hardening. The role also involves troubleshooting and resolving complex system, network, and application issues, managing user access and system security policies, and automating routine tasks through scripting. Collaboration with DevOps, network, and security teams to optimize infrastructure, implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions, and maintaining system documentation are also essential aspects of this position.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in Linux system administration.
• Strong experience with major Linux distributions such as Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu.
• Proficiency in shell scripting (*, Bash, Python) and automation tools.
• A solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
• Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or KVM.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools including Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent.
• Experience in high-availability and mission-critical environments.
