Senior Linux & Windows Server Administrator (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)

About the Role

DXC Technology is seeking a Senior Linux & Windows Server Administrator specializing in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This full-time role, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involves managing the full operating system lifecycle for Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Windows Server across OCI and hybrid environments. The administrator will ensure the availability, security, and operational efficiency of enterprise compute workloads on OCI.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision and manage OCI compute instances, including virtual machines, Bare Metal, and Flex shapes, running Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Windows Server.
• Configure instance metadata, cloud-init scripts, and custom images, and build/maintain golden images and image pipelines for Linux and Windows Server on OCI.
• Administer Oracle Linux 8/9 and RHEL 8/9, including kernel tuning, package management, storage configuration (LVM, ext4, XFS, OCFS2), systemd services, and security controls (SELinux, firewalld).
• Install, configure, and manage Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 on OCI, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, File Server, and Failover Clustering.
• Design and execute patching strategies across all managed operating systems using OCI OS Management Hub and other enterprise tools, including Oracle Ksplice.
• Apply CIS benchmarks, implement OS-level encryption (LUKS, BitLocker), harden SSH access, and manage authentication controls for security and compliance.
• Configure OCI VNIC attachments, manage DNS resolution, NTP/Chrony, host-based routing, and align host firewall configurations with OCI Security Lists.
• Monitor CPU, memory, storage, and network performance using OCI monitoring services and native tools, and conduct capacity planning.
• Develop and maintain OS automation using Ansible, Terraform with OCI provider, OCI Resource Manager, Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Develop runbooks, participate in on-call support, incident management, and collaborate with other technical teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• 8-10 years of experience in server operating system administration.
• Deep expertise in Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Windows Server.
• Proven experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and hybrid environments.
• Ability to resolve complex OS issues and improve security and patch compliance.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in OCI Compute and Instance Management, including Bare Metal and Flex shapes.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Linux and RHEL administration, including kernel tuning, package management, and storage.
• Expertise in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and various server roles.
• Capability in OS patching, lifecycle management, and security hardening (CIS benchmarks, encryption).
• Skills in networking configuration, performance monitoring, and tuning at the OS level.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation for OS provisioning and configuration.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure, application, and database teams.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and operates within a full-time capacity. The successful candidate will work within a team environment, collaborating with cloud architects, DBA teams, middleware teams, and other stakeholders.
