Senior Mobile Developer (Flutter)

About the Role

Norconsult Telematics is seeking a Senior Mobile Developer (Flutter) to join their team in Riyadh. This is a full-time position with a contract duration of six months, focusing on maintaining and enhancing mobile applications. The role requires 2-5 years of experience in mobile development.

Role Objective

The primary objective of this role is to ensure all three mobile applications remain buildable, shippable, and compliant with store guidelines. The Senior Mobile Developer will be responsible for delivering contracted mobile enhancements, completing phased modernization of legacy applications, sustaining field defect resolution, and maintaining mobile production availability. A key focus will also be on strengthening mobile security and progressively improving automated test coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Triage and resolve field-reported defects, including issues related to GPS, permissions, camera, offline replay, push notifications, and OS regressions.
• Ensure all three applications are buildable and shippable through SDK upgrades, Gradle and Xcode migrations, store compliance, and maintaining green pipelines.
• Plan and execute a phased migration of the legacy application to Dart 3 and sound null safety.
• Develop new screens and task flows based on Azure Boards, incorporating full localization and RTL layout support.
• Maintain the mobile security posture using tools such as freeRASP, secure storage, obfuscated builds, and mock-location detection.
• Manage the end-to-end release process across the App Store and Google Play.
• Progressively enhance automated test coverage across all three applications.
• Participate in incident investigation and root-cause analysis for mobile-originated issues.
• Contribute to the out-of-hours and on-call support rota for production issues.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API contracts, offline sync behavior, and defect resolution.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
• Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience shipping and owning production Flutter applications on both the App Store and Google Play.
• Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end release management for published mobile applications.
• Proven ability to work productively within an inherited architecture with thin test coverage and dated dependencies, focusing on incremental improvements rather than full replacement.
• Experience with offline-first mobile applications in operational or field-use contexts.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours support rotation.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, requiring participation in an out-of-hours and on-call support rota for production issues. The role involves collaboration with backend engineers and working within an Agile delivery framework.
