The Role of Senior Packaging Technologist

Almarai is seeking a Senior Packaging Technologist to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to driving packaging innovation across Almarai’s diverse product portfolio. The successful candidate will lead the development, evaluation, and implementation of packaging solutions, ensuring the successful introduction of new packaging specifications across the business and its supplier network. This position also supports New Product Development (NPD) initiatives and acts as the Packaging Development Lead for promotional packaging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction and implementation of new packaging specifications across Almarai and its suppliers.
• Plan, execute, and report on packaging trials to ensure optimal performance and feasibility.
• Provide technical expertise in packaging design, materials selection, and functionality.
• Identify and resolve packaging-related challenges, including logistics and supply chain constraints.

Collaboration and Strategic Impact

This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including New Product Development (NPD), Procurement, Quality, and Operations. The Senior Packaging Technologist will drive continuous improvement and innovation in packaging technologies and sustainability, while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant packaging technology role.
