Role Overview

This full-time role is central to driving packaging innovation across Almarai’s diverse product portfolio. The Senior Packaging Technologist will lead the development, evaluation, and implementation of new packaging solutions. This involves ensuring the successful introduction of new packaging specifications throughout the business and its extensive supplier network. Additionally, the role provides critical support for New Product Development (NPD) initiatives and serves as the Packaging Development Lead for promotional packaging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction and implementation of new packaging specifications across Almarai and its suppliers.
• Plan, execute, and report on packaging trials to ensure optimal performance and feasibility.
• Provide technical expertise in packaging design, materials selection, and functionality.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including NPD, Procurement, Quality, and Operations.
• Identify and resolve packaging-related challenges, including those pertaining to logistics and supply chain constraints.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in packaging technologies and sustainability practices.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements relevant to packaging.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in packaging technology or a related field.
• Professional certification or diploma in Packaging Technology is preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering results and effectively managing stakeholders.

Work Environment and Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The role operates within a dynamic food and beverage manufacturing and distribution environment, requiring collaboration across various internal departments and external suppliers.
