Mace Group combines construction expertise with consultancy to enhance project potential and redefine ambition. This opportunity involves working on a large new build airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which is designed to establish a global benchmark for aviation experience and aims to attract 120 million passengers by 2030. Mace Group is currently providing program management for this significant development.

Overview of the Role

As a Senior Quality Assurance Manager (M3) - QA Training and Competency Lead, you will be responsible for providing the necessary training and competency assurance capacity. This ensures that all personnel engaged in the program are qualified, competent, and authorized to perform their assigned activities. The role is critical for establishing a structured competency framework, verifying qualifications, and evaluating training effectiveness to address competency gaps proactively and demonstrate conformance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the program's training and competency framework, including role-based competency matrices and assurance requirements.
  • Conduct training needs analysis across various program functions and manage the annual training plan.
  • Verify that personnel qualifications, certifications, and competency records meet contractual, regulatory, and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Coordinate the delivery of technical training programs, encompassing provider sourcing, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate and traceable training and competency records within the Quality Management Information System (QMIS).
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and report on identified competency gaps, proposed closure actions, and completion status.
  • Support internal and external audits related to competence requirements and facilitate the closure of associated findings.
  • Report training and competency Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and trends to management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, human resources, or a closely related field.
  • Possession of a certified training or assessment qualification (*, CIPD, ATD, TAP). ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical training, competency assurance, or learning and development roles within construction or infrastructure programs.
  • Proven experience in developing competency frameworks, conducting training needs analysis, and administering competency records on large-scale programs.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in training needs analysis and competency assessment methodologies.
  • Strong capabilities in reporting, data analysis, time management, and schedule management.
  • Familiarity with QMS best practices and competence requirements.
