About the Role

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to lead and oversee site supervision activities for a large-scale development project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves acting as the Consultant’s on-site representative, ensuring all construction works adhere to approved designs, contract specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and health, safety, and environmental requirements. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and extensive experience in supervising complex building and hospitality developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all construction supervision activities and manage daily site operations to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and regulations.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, architectural, MEP, landscape, and specialist inspectors.
• Review contractor submissions such as method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, work programs, and technical proposals.
• Monitor construction progress against approved project schedules and key milestones.
• Identify potential project risks, delays, and technical challenges, implementing corrective actions in coordination with stakeholders.
• Chair and lead regular progress meetings, construction coordination meetings, and technical review workshops.
• Ensure contractors maintain high quality standards throughout project execution.
• Review and recommend approval of interim payment certificates, variation orders, claims, and extension of time requests.
• Coordinate with clients, authorities, contractors, operators, and other consultants to facilitate project delivery.
• Monitor compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, system integration, and project closeout activities.
• Ensure timely resolution of technical queries, Requests for Information (RFIs), and site-related issues.
• Monitor and verify compliance with local Saudi regulations, building codes, and authority requirements.
• Review contractor quality assurance and quality control procedures and ensure proper implementation.
• Provide regular project status reports highlighting progress, risks, quality, safety performance, and commercial matters.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in site supervision, particularly in complex building and hospitality developments.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in coordinating multidisciplinary supervision teams.
• Strong technical expertise in construction methodologies and project delivery.
• Proven ability to manage contractor performance and ensure successful project delivery.
• Experience in stakeholder management, coordinating with clients, authorities, and other consultants.
