The Role: Senior Road Engineer

WSP Middle East is seeking a Senior Road Engineer to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading and overseeing the successful delivery of road infrastructure projects, leveraging technical expertise and project management skills. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in road engineering, with a proven track record in site supervision within the construction consultancy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and development of road infrastructure projects, including alignment studies, geometric design, pavement design, and drainage design, in accordance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments, traffic impact analyses, and risk assessments to inform design decisions and optimize project outcomes.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance during the construction phase of road projects, conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with engineering specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Implement quality assurance and control measures to ensure construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans and standards.
  • Develop and implement traffic management plans and safety measures to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety of road users, construction workers, and the public.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and communities to understand needs, concerns, and expectations related to road infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, tracking progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in road engineering.
  • Proven track record in site supervision within the construction consultancy sector.
  • Strong technical expertise in road infrastructure project delivery.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
