About the Senior Solutions Architect Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves assisting digitally native customers by shaping highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures. The architect will partner with various AWS teams to address customer business problems, accelerate the adoption of AWS services, and drive revenue growth. This position requires a balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills, focusing on best practices for advanced cloud-based solutions and workload migration to the cloud.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the successful building and migration of applications, software, and services on the AWS platform as a key member of the sales team.
• Formulate and execute sales strategies in partnership with the sales team to exceed revenue objectives through AWS adoption.
• Manage the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS, providing recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful cloud deployment.
• Conduct training sessions (one-to-few and one-to-many) to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community.

Candidate Profile and Expectations

The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting. This role requires the ability to connect technology with measurable business value and to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. Candidates should have a strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions, ideally with prior experience as a systems engineer or architect. The role involves a passion for educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions for a diverse set of customers, alongside continuous development of technical skills to contribute to deep architecture discussions and participate in design exercises for AWS-built solutions.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in specific technology domain areas such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
• Minimum of 10 years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing cloud services, including migrations and modernization projects, or equivalent.
• Experience working with end-user or developer communities.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
