About the Role

TawanTech is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves close collaboration with various teams to document software requirements and ensure comprehensive handover documentation for systems post go-live.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Delivery, Development, and Application Support teams to gather detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
• Author and maintain Software Requirements Specification (SRS) documents for systems being handed over post go-live.
• Develop standardized handover documentation templates and checklists.
• Ensure that all handover deliverables include architecture overviews, configurations, support scenarios, workflows, and known issues.
• Translate technical specifications, user stories, and configurations into clear, structured documentation.
• Conduct interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to gather undocumented knowledge relevant to support.
• Review existing documentation and align it with Quality Management System (QMS) and IT Service Management (ITSM) standards.
• Ensure documentation adheres to audit, compliance, and traceability requirements.
• Support periodic reviews and updates of documentation to reflect system changes or new releases.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technical Communication, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer in IT, software, or enterprise environments.
• Proven experience developing Software Requirements Specification (SRS) or technical handover documents.
• Background in working within Agile, DevOps, or Waterfall delivery models.

Technical and Leadership Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Confluence, JIRA, or other documentation management systems.
• Familiarity with SRS, Business Requirements Document (BRD), and technical design documentation standards.
• Experience with diagramming tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or *****
• Understanding of APIs, software architecture, and infrastructure basics.
• Ability to take ownership of the handover documentation lifecycle.
• Capability to collaborate across departments to enforce standards and drive process improvement.
• Aptitude to mentor project teams on documentation expectations and SRS structure.

Preferred Certifications and Key Competencies

• Certified Technical Writer (*, CPTC by STC) is preferred.
• ITIL Foundation certification for understanding support environments is a plus.
• ISO 9001 Awareness or CMMI knowledge is advantageous.
• Demonstrated detail-orientation with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to connect business needs to technical solutions.
• Proactive and self-driven with a commitment to quality.
