We are currently seeking a Senior Underground Mining Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5 to 10 years of experience and is integral to expanding our mining engineering capabilities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia region.

Role Purpose and Scope

Reporting to the Saudi-based Mining Lead, the Senior Underground Mining Engineer will be responsible for both business development and providing essential technical support for projects at various stages and operations throughout the region. A core aspect of this role involves developing a multicultural network, building relationships with key external clients, and fostering internal networks within Hatch globally to achieve optimal outcomes. The position requires willingness and ability to travel to various work sites, both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee gold mine construction, underground development, and execution.
• Manage sub-contractor relationships and performance.
• Provide specialist advisory support to clients and project teams on mining operations and projects.
• Conduct underground and/or open pit mining studies, including first principle mining engineering, benchmarking, mine designs, schedules, cost estimates, and economic evaluations.
• Ensure that methodologies and tools used for mining studies achieve the required accuracy to meet client requirements efficiently.
• Maintain and enhance technical skills in mining engineering to improve solution quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify and implement developments in mining practice and analysis techniques for improved efficiency and business growth.
• Undertake technical and peer reviews to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
• Assume lead and/or project manager roles for assigned projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the underground mining industry.
• Demonstrated background in underground mining.
• Experience working as part of or managing integrated teams.
