Shipping Specialist

About the Role

Laverne Group is seeking a Shipping Specialist to manage and oversee local and international shipping operations. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves ensuring timely and efficient delivery of shipments through effective coordination with various stakeholders.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to manage and follow up on all shipping activities, from supplier dispatch to warehouse delivery. The Shipping Specialist will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers, shipping companies, warehouses, and internal departments to streamline the shipping process and resolve any operational issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow up on local and international shipments from suppliers until their delivery to the warehouse.
• Coordinate with suppliers, shipping companies, and freight forwarders to ensure timely shipments.
• Track shipment schedules, departure and arrival dates, and maintain accurate shipment updates.
• Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure smooth receiving processes and accurate shipment quantities.
• Handle shipment delays and operational issues by engaging with relevant parties.
• Update shipment information and status within the ERP system.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse, Inventory, Finance, and other related departments.
• Monitor shipping costs, quotations, and invoices.
• Follow up on customs clearance and shipping requirements as needed.
• Prepare regular reports on shipment status, delays, costs, and operational issues.
• Monitor the performance of shipping companies and service providers.
• Maintain accurate and organized shipping records.
• Support initiatives aimed at improving shipping efficiency, reducing lead times, and optimizing operational costs.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in shipping or a related field.
• Proven ability to manage local and international logistics operations.
• Experience with ERP systems for tracking and updating shipment information.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a dynamic environment that requires close coordination with various internal and external teams.
