About the Role

CAE is seeking an experienced Simulator Technician (UAV Simulators) to join our team in Riyadh, specifically at Al Majma’ah Airbase. This role involves the maintenance and repair of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) simulators, contributing to a team of three technicians responsible for a fleet of three UAV simulators: two Generic Mission Training devices and one Desktop system. The position offers technical variety and exposure to modern simulator systems, fostering an environment for continuous learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues within complex flight simulation systems.
• Collaborate with test engineers and pilots to verify subsystem updates and bug fixes.
• Support the integration of data, software, hardware updates, and component exchanges.
• Perform instrument calibration and functional system testing.
• Conduct detailed fault analysis and repair faulty components or the source of the fault.
• Learn and execute preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and associated systems.
• Assist in diagnosing and rectifying problems on simulators and related systems.
• Utilize maintenance management systems to document and track all maintenance activities.
• Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks on all simulators.
• Execute visual calibrations and run automatic Qualification Test Guides (QTG).
• Assist with hardware refurbishment and modifications.
• Undertake administrative tasks as required.
• Manage logistics duties, including parts receipt, repair, and testing/validation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant technical qualifications are preferred.
• Previous work experience as a technician in an electronic, avionic, or technical field is desirable.
• Strong background in electrical engineering and hardware engineering.
• Experience working with software systems (coding not required).
• Proficiency in computer operations (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture).
• Some experience in soldering and circuit board repairs is preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and suite.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a regular work type position located at Al Majma’ah Airbase. The current working hours for this role are from 0700 to 1500, Sunday to Thursday.
