Site Architect Opportunity with WSP

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Site Architect to join our PMCM team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position focused on overseeing architectural works for a significant project within the region.

Role Overview and Project Context

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing architectural works on site, ensuring construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements. The role demands close coordination with contractors, consultants, and various project stakeholders to facilitate successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect architectural construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
• Review contractor submissions, including shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and mock-ups.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of architectural finishes and workmanship.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare inspection reports, snag lists, and close-out reports.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, MEP, landscape, and infrastructure disciplines.
• Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and technical queries from contractors.
• Identify construction issues and provide technical solutions in coordination with the design and PMCM teams.
• Monitor progress and ensure architectural works are completed in line with project schedules.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning, handover, and project close-out activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in architectural site supervision, inspection, or construction administration.
• Previous experience on large-scale mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, public realm, or mega projects.
• Prior experience working within a PMCM/Consultancy environment is highly preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, architectural materials, and finishing works.
• Proficiency in reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
