Site Manager Electrical (Substation)

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Site Manager Electrical (Substation) to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing the electrical construction execution for substation projects, ensuring adherence to SEC standards and project requirements. The Site Manager will be responsible for site coordination, subcontractor management, quality, safety, and timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical construction activities for 380kV substation/BSP projects.
• Plan and monitor site execution, including manpower, materials, equipment, and daily progress.
• Coordinate with SEC, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Ensure all works comply with SEC standards, approved drawings, specifications, and project procedures.
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, cable works, equipment erection, and related electrical activities.
• Monitor project schedules, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to achieve project milestones.
• Review drawings, method statements, ITPs, and other technical documents prior to execution.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure productivity, quality, safety, and timely completion of their scope.
• Coordinate with Civil, Protection & Control, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, and Procurement teams.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure proper resolution of technical and construction issues.
• Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and SEC inspection/approval activities.
• Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and senior management.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and promote a zero-incident project execution environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of hands-on experience with SEC projects and SEC construction standards.
• Strong knowledge of GIS installation, power transformers, switchgear, protection systems, cable works, and commissioning activities.
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

SEC-Specific Requirements

• Experience working on SEC-approved 380kV Substation Projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with SEC General Specifications (SGS), SEC Safety Regulations, and SEC project execution procedures.
• Ability to coordinate directly with SEC Project Management and Construction Supervision teams.
