Site Reliability Engineer Manager (SREM)

About the Role

Soar is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer Manager (SREM) to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on championing reliability, performance, and efficiency across the engineering organization. The SREM will bridge the gap between development and operations by applying software engineering principles to system administration, building fault-tolerant infrastructure, establishing SLOs, and ensuring platform availability and security in compliance with KSA financial and data standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, measure, and manage Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and Error Budgets to balance feature velocity with system stability.
• Design, build, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
• Develop automation tools for provisioning, scaling, failover, and deployment to eliminate manual toil.
• Lead incident management processes, participate in on-call rotations, and conduct blameless post-mortems for continuous improvement.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK stack to identify system bottlenecks proactively.
• Partner with development teams to optimize deployment pipelines for speed, safety, and reliability.
• Collaborate with the security team to implement robust security practices and ensure infrastructure compliance with KSA regulations (*, SAMA, NCA, and PDPL data localization requirements).
• Mentor junior engineers and cultivate a culture of reliability, operational excellence, and shared ownership within the engineering team.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in Fintech, Proptech, or a highly regulated environment.
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian financial and data privacy regulations (SAMA, NCA frameworks).
• Experience with database reliability (PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka).
