The Role: Solution Architect – Microservices Architecture

Squash Apps is seeking an experienced Solution Architect with strong expertise in microservices architecture, application design, and enterprise-level solution development. This is a contract position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring 5-10 years of experience. The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing scalable and secure application architectures, providing technical leadership, conducting code reviews, and ensuring alignment with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable microservices-based application architectures.
• Define technical architecture, design patterns, and application integration strategies.
• Lead application design and architecture discussions with development teams.
• Review source code to ensure quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Establish architecture standards, best practices, and technical guidelines.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams.
• Identify technical risks and recommend appropriate architectural solutions.
• Ensure applications follow enterprise architecture and security standards.
• Support technical implementation, troubleshooting, and architecture decisions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong experience as a Solution Architect in enterprise application development.
• Hands-on expertise in microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, API integration, and distributed systems.
• Experience with application architecture, design patterns, and system scalability.
• Strong experience in code reviews and technical governance.
• Knowledge of cloud-based application architecture.
• Experience working on large-scale enterprise or government projects.
• Previous experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia (KSA) is highly preferred/required as per project expectations.
