SQL & Oracle Database Engineer

About the Role

DXC Technology is seeking an experienced SQL & Oracle Database Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise database environments. The position focuses on critical database administration tasks, performance tuning, and ensuring high availability and disaster recovery for business applications across Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization improvements.
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Ensure database availability, reliability, and security.
• Support database upgrades, migrations, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Configure and maintain high-availability solutions such as Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and SQL Always On.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for database operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database incidents and performance issues.
• Perform database capacity planning and health checks.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams on new projects and initiatives.
• Participate in change management, release activities, and operational support.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant database engineering role. The following qualifications are preferred:

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
• ITIL v4 Foundation
• Oracle Cloud Certifications
• Database Administration Certifications
• Experience with enterprise-scale database environments

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, working within a team that supports critical business applications and infrastructure.
