The Role of Senior Project Execution Engineer

Daikin Saudi is seeking a Sr. Project Execution Engineer (HVAC Projects) to join our team in Al Dar Al Baida District, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of HVAC projects across the Central & Eastern Region of KSA. The position involves managing the full project lifecycle from sales handover through planning, execution, monitoring, financial governance, commissioning, and close-out, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and compliant with contractual, quality, and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate project scope, specifications, commercial terms, and contractual obligations.
• Identify key risks, assumptions, constraints, and mitigation strategies at project initiation.
• Lead internal and external project kick-off meetings to align all stakeholders.
• Develop and manage integrated project execution plans, including schedule, resources, procurement, cash flow, and cost baselines.
• Coordinate with engineering, design, procurement, and logistics teams for project readiness.
• Prepare and submit project-specific technical submittals, method statements, and compliance documentation.
• Lead site execution of HVAC projects (chillers, VRV systems, retrofits, and turnkey solutions), managing subcontractors and ensuring adherence to scope, quality, and timelines.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards and coordinate proactively with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Track progress against baseline schedules and milestones, monitoring cost performance, variations, and change orders.
• Issue accurate and timely progress reports, dashboards, and forecasts, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Manage project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and margin protection.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring they meet design intent and client requirements.
• Lead final inspections, snag closure, and stakeholder approvals, securing formal client acceptance and project closure.
• Ensure complete and accurate handover documentation (as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties).
• Conduct structured project close-out reviews, capture lessons learned, and support service teams during the defect liability period.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in HVAC project execution, with significant exposure to chillers and VRV systems.
• Demonstrated experience delivering turnkey HVAC projects in KSA or GCC markets.
• Project Management certification (*, PMP or equivalent) is preferred.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, particularly VRV technologies and central plant solutions.
• Solid knowledge of project management frameworks (*, PMI principles) and execution tools.
• Proven financial acumen with experience in cost control, margin management, and contract administration.
• Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills to support site execution and resolve project issues.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams for smooth project delivery.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and site activities.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting progress, preparing documentation, and supporting meetings.
• Good commercial awareness, understanding cost implications and efficient resource utilization.
