Stakeholder Manager

About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Stakeholder Manager to join the Transport & Infrastructure team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading stakeholder engagement activities across major infrastructure and transportation design projects. The Stakeholder Manager will ensure effective communication, alignment, and collaboration between project teams, government authorities, utility providers, clients, and key project stakeholders.

Role Context and Contribution

The successful candidate will contribute to transport and infrastructure developments within the Kingdom. This position supports project delivery through proactive stakeholder management and relationship building, acting as a primary liaison and facilitating necessary coordination and approvals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement stakeholder management and communication strategies for major transport and infrastructure projects.
• Identify, map, analyze, and maintain stakeholder registers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build and maintain relationships with government entities, municipalities, regulatory authorities, utility providers, clients, and community representatives.
• Act as the primary liaison between project teams and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate stakeholder meetings, workshops, presentations, and consultation sessions.
• Manage stakeholder risks, issues, and concerns, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where appropriate.
• Facilitate approvals, permits, and coordination requirements with relevant authorities and utility agencies.
• Support project teams in obtaining stakeholder buy-in for design solutions and project initiatives.
• Prepare stakeholder engagement reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, and executive-level updates.
• Monitor stakeholder commitments and ensure actions are tracked and closed effectively.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, design managers, discipline leads, and clients to support successful project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, project governance frameworks, and regulatory obligations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Saudi National.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in stakeholder management, stakeholder coordination, or external affairs.
• Demonstrated experience working on large-scale transport and infrastructure design projects within Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
• Previous experience with an engineering consultancy is preferred.
• Proven track record engaging with public sector authorities, municipalities, transport authorities, utility providers, and regulatory bodies.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure and transportation project lifecycles from planning through design and delivery.

Required Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities within complex project environments.
