About the Role

UNIMAC - United Maintenance and Contracting Company is seeking a Survey Manager / Lead Chief Surveyor to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading, managing, and coordinating surveying operations across multiple large-scale infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring accuracy and quality in all surveying activities.

Job Purpose

The Survey Manager / Lead Chief Surveyor will establish company-wide surveying standards, procedures, and best practices. The position provides technical leadership in conventional surveying, Autodesk Civil 3D, 3D laser scanning, drone surveying, photogrammetry, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ensuring effective integration of survey data with BIM workflows and project delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multiple surveying teams across major projects, ensuring effective resource allocation, operational efficiency, and timely delivery.
• Oversee surveying operations for infrastructure, roads, utilities, public realm developments, and other large-scale construction projects.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to surveying personnel.
• Monitor surveying progress, resource requirements, deliverables, and compliance with project specifications.
• Provide advanced technical expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D, including workflow development, troubleshooting, surface modeling, and data processing.
• Oversee the application of laser scanning technologies, including field data acquisition, point cloud processing, and quality verification.
• Lead the implementation of drone surveying, UAV-based data acquisition, photogrammetry, and other modern geospatial technologies.
• Oversee the use of GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial analysis, data management, and project coordination.
• Develop, establish, and implement company-wide surveying standards, technical procedures, and best practices.
• Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of survey data, drawings, and models across all projects.
• Establish surveying QA/QC procedures, verification protocols, and document control practices.
• Ensure compliance with applicable surveying standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure effective integration of surveying outputs with BIM models, Civil 3D workflows, and other digital engineering platforms.
• Establish and maintain robust survey data management systems, including data collection, processing, storage, and information exchange.
• Coordinate with BIM, engineering, design, construction, and project management teams.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and project managers to address surveying requirements.
• Provide technical recommendations and surveying strategies for project planning and execution.
• Plan and allocate surveying personnel, equipment, and software according to project priorities.
• Identify opportunities to standardize processes, improve workflows, and optimize surveying costs.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in surveying operations, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D, 3D laser scanning, drone surveying, photogrammetry, and GIS.
• Proven ability to lead and manage multiple surveying teams simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of surveying standards, QA/QC procedures, and regulatory compliance.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involving coordination across various project sites and collaboration with diverse technical and project teams.
