About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Survey Engineer to join the site-based Construction Supervision team for a major landmark development project in Riyadh. This is a full-time position focused on providing independent, end-to-end supervision and management to ensure project completion, integration, testing, commissioning, and handover.

Project Context

The project involves the design, enabling, and main works for a large-scale destination development in Riyadh. It features several iconic assets, hospitality facilities, and supporting infrastructure. The Construction Supervision Consultant (CSC) operates under a client governance framework with stringent requirements for program, quality, safety, and sustainability, supporting successful operations and long-term legacy objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Resident Engineer/Construction Director and serve as the lead surveyor for all site surveying and setting-out verification activities.
  • Supervise and coordinate Parsons’ survey team and review contractor survey work for accuracy and compliance.
  • Verify control points, benchmarks, and reference coordinates established by the contractor, ensuring correct relation to the approved project datum and grid system.
  • Confirm contractor setting-out for alignments, levels, coordinates, and dimensions across roads, utilities, structures, hardscape, and landscape features.
  • Conduct independent spot checks and surveys to ensure constructed works align with approved drawings and tolerances.
  • Review and comment on contractor survey reports, layout drawings, as-built surveys, and topographic surveys for consistency and completeness.
  • Identify and report discrepancies between design drawings and site conditions, supporting the supervision team in resolving setting-out issues.
  • Coordinate survey activities with discipline engineers (roads, structures, wet and dry utilities, hardscape, landscape) to support interface and clash avoidance.
  • Maintain and ensure proper use, calibration, and safekeeping of survey equipment (total stations, GPS/GNSS, levels, laser instruments, etc.).
  • Manage and maintain organized digital and hard-copy records of survey data, field notes, and as-built information.
  • Support the verification of earthwork quantities, volumetric calculations, and measurements for commercial and quantity surveying teams.
  • Participate in progress and coordination meetings, providing survey-related inputs, constraints, and recommendations.
  • Ensure all survey activities comply with HSE requirements, safe work practices, and Parsons quality procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of as-built drawings and final survey records for handover to the client and relevant authorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Strong proficiency in modern survey instruments and software, including total stations, GPS/GNSS, digital levels, and survey data processing tools.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Solid understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, leveling, and construction setting-out for civil, structural, and landscape works.
  • Proven experience in a site-based construction supervision environment, verifying contractor setting-out and as-built data.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, and utility drawings and translate them into precise field layouts.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and record-keeping, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Good communication and coordination skills, enabling effective collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and contractors.
  • Experience in KSA or the GCC region is preferred.
