System Engineer

About the Role

ADB Safegate is seeking a System Engineer to be based at King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh. This full-time role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for overseeing and executing maintenance activities for critical airport systems under an SLA contract. The System Engineer will ensure all maintenance operations adhere to contractual, operational, technical, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the maintenance team responsible for Airfield Lighting Control and Monitoring System (ALCMS), Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL), Constant Current Regulators (CCRs), and related electronic systems.
• Supervise, plan, organize, direct, and evaluate employee work, including adjusting assignments, procedures, and schedules.
• Manage the execution of maintenance tasks within the defined scope, including work order issuance, execution, reporting, follow-up, and closure.
• Maintain records and prepare reports related to airfield maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure the availability of spare parts, tools, equipment, vehicles, and other required resources.
• Coordinate daily with the Maintenance Manager regarding unplanned activities requiring additional staff support.
• Establish preventive, planned, corrective, and unplanned maintenance activities as per the maintenance plan.
• Follow up, evaluate, and optimize all preventive maintenance procedures.
• Prepare and submit Permit to Work (PTW) requests to the Customer Representative correctly and on time.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations, ensuring work progresses according to approved procedures, plans, and specifications.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex technical faults, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Take ownership of technical issues from initial identification through to final resolution.
• Proactively identify recurring faults, operational risks, and opportunities to improve system reliability and maintenance performance.
• Participate in the airport’s on-call, recall, and standby programs.
• Be responsible for achieving the SLA contract KPIs.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop effective solutions with limited supervision.
• Strong understanding of maintenance activities related to ALCMS, AGL, and CCRs.
• Experience in managing maintenance teams and supervising employee work.
• Proficiency in using Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems.
