T&C Protection Engineer

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a T&C Protection Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves ensuring the correct functionality of facilities, equipment, and plants through comprehensive testing and commissioning processes. The role focuses on optimizing product and system performance to meet client specifications effectively.

Role Overview

The T&C Protection Engineer will be responsible for the testing and commissioning of various systems, ensuring they operate as expected and align with client requirements. This involves a detailed understanding of protection schemes and the ability to operate specialized testing equipment and software.

Key Responsibilities

• Competently test Main Advanced Relays, backup relays, and Auxiliary relays, executing tasks individually for BSP projects.
• Operate various relay software applications.
• Operate secondary and primary current injection kits from different manufacturers.
• Apply thorough knowledge of protection schemes for reading and field verification.
• Propose improvements and offer advice on operational procedures.
• Schedule and coordinate work to meet tight deadlines.
• Identify problems and shortcomings within existing systems.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide advice on testing and commissioning procedures and documentation.
• Produce or assist in the production of all test and commissioning documentation.
• Undertake testing and commissioning activities within specified time and cost parameters.
• Monitor progress, record all test results, witness final testing and acceptance of equipment, and compile documentation for site test dossiers.
• Ensure the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve necessary plant performance in accordance with project program requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 8-15 years of experience in testing and commissioning.
• Demonstrated competence in testing various types of relays.
• Proficiency in operating relay software applications and current injection kits.
• Strong understanding of protection schemes and their field verification.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
